Hi, I'm Dorothea
Children’s Nutritionist helping overwhelmed mums move away from stressful mealtimes to feel calm and more confident feeding their toddler without pressure.
More About Dorothea
I’m a Registered Associate Nutritionist (AfN), mum of two and student Dietitian helping families feel calmer and more confident at mealtimes.
I support parents navigating toddler fussy eating, food refusal, and stressful family meals using realistic, pressure-free strategies that work in everyday family life.
I graduated from in 2021 with a BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition and have been supporting families since 2023 through nutrition education, behaviour change support and practical family-focused guidance.
My experience includes working within Tier 2 Weight Management programmes for both children and adults, supporting families through topics including nutrition, sleep, sugary drinks, movement and sustainable lifestyle habits.
As a mum to Hunter and Hebe, I also understand the reality behind feeding young children. In our home, we always aim to share one family meal together at dinner time. I know how exhausting it can feel to cook separate meals, worry about what your child is eating and dread another stressful dinner time.
That’s why I’m passionate about helping families move away from pressure and food battles and towards calmer, more connected mealtimes together.
My Story
Food and family have always been closely connected in my life.
Some of my favourite memories growing up were centred around sharing meals together, spending time in the kitchen, and connecting through food.
My interest in nutrition grew from there and eventually led me to study Human Nutrition.
But becoming a mum gave me a completely different perspective on feeding.
Like many parents, I experienced how quickly mealtimes can become emotionally overwhelming. One day your child seems to eat everything, and the next they refuse foods they once loved. You question yourself, worry constantly, and wonder if you’re doing something wrong.
I realised that so much feeding advice given to parents feels unrealistic for everyday family life.
Parents don’t need more pressure or judgement. They need support that feels calm, practical, and achievable.
That’s what led me towards supporting families with toddler feeding and creating a more realistic, pressure-free approach to mealtimes.
Creating Calm Around Mealtimes
Alongside supporting families today, I’m currently studying Dietetics to deepen my clinical knowledge and continue specialising in children’s nutrition and feeding support.
My long-term vision is to create a space where parents feel genuinely supported, reassured, and confident at mealtimes — without pressure, guilt, or unrealistic expectations.
I want to continue helping families feel less alone in their feeding journey through practical support, education, workshops, and evidence-based guidance that fits into real family life.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief that mealtimes should feel calm, connected, and enjoyable — not stressful or isolating.
Because feeding your child shouldn’t take away from family life. It should support it.
MY APPROACH
My Fuss-Free Feeding approach is designed to support real families living real life — without pressure, guilt, or unrealistic expectations around food.
Together, we focus on:
✔ Pressure-free feeding
✔ One family meal approaches
✔ Calm, realistic mealtimes
✔ Building confidence for parents
✔ Sensory-aware strategies
✔ Evidence-based nutrition support
I don’t believe in forcing bites, bribing with dessert, or turning food into a daily battle.
Instead, I help parents better understand toddler feeding behaviours, feel more confident responding to feeding challenges, and create positive mealtime habits that support their child’s relationship with food over time.
Because mealtimes shouldn’t feel stressful or isolating — they should feel calm, connected, and manageable within everyday family life.
READY FOR CALMER MEALTIMES?
If you’re ready to stop dreading dinner and start feeling confident at the table again, I’d love to support you.
